Butterscotch Horseman is the secondary antagonist of the Netflix original series BoJack Horseman. He was the abusive father of BoJack Horseman, the biological father of Hollyhock, and the husband of Beatrice Horseman who was an alcoholic failed novelist.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He convinced Beatrice to run away and keep the baby, causing her life to be ruined.
- He was an abusive husband and father to Beatrice and BoJack, which caused the latter to become the person he is now.
- Due to his hatred of the upper class, he refused to get a job, causing him and his family to be in poverty for years.
- He cheated on Beatrice with many women.
- He drugged his son BoJack, a literal child at the time, to blackmail him to not tell Beatrice about his affair.
- He seduced Henrietta Placket and got her pregnant and later tried to blame Beatrice for “not doing her womanly duties”.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- While his abuse is personal and cruel enough to pass the general baseline, he fails the high heinous standards of the series to multiple characters including his son, BoJack. He also fails the heinous standards to his wife, Beatrice, who, despite being a tad less unlikable, still managed to psychologically damage and abuse Bojack in a far bigger way than Butterscotch ever could.
- He has been shown to slightly care for his family, as he picks up BoJack from soccer practice after Beatrice forgot and apologizes about making a negative comment towards Beatrice, stating she’s “doing her best”. As well as that, he shows his care for Beatrice as he always came out of his room to see her dance, even during the parties he hated.
