Bruford, also known as Blueford, a supporting antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood. He is one of the undead henchmen of Dio Brando.

In Japanese, he was voiced by Nobutoshi Canna in the PS2 game adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood, Tōru Nara in the 2007 movie adaptation of the part, and Kenjiro Tsuda in the anime. In English, he was voiced by Tony Oliver in the anime.

His Villainous Deeds

• Although he used to be a honorable knight loyal to Mary Stuart, he became cold-hearted and vengeful after his revival.
• Alongside with Tarkus and other zombies revived by Dio, he killed and devoured many villagers in Windsknight's lot, and transformed several villagers into zombies like himself.
• He declared his ambition to aid Dio in destroying the world and killing all the humans.
• He attempted to kill Jonathan by drinking blood with his hair and attack Jonathan with his sword.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?

• He has a genuiely tragic backstory. He and Tarkus chose to surrender and be excuted to save Mary, but only was betrayed by Elizabeth and was told that Mary was already dead. That explained why he become so vengeful and misanthropic.
• He is a villain by proxy, as most of his villainous deeds are done after being revived as a zombie by Dio. Therefore, he massively failed the Heinous Standard to Dio, who revived him in the first place.
  • He also fails the Heinous Standard to his fellow Tarkus, who is also bog-standard himself.
• Even after being transformed into a zombie, he still holds his sense of honor, as he played fair in the battle with Jonathan, told Tarkus not to interfere, and declared the respect for Jonathan.
• His death is played for sympathy. After he regained the ability to feel pain because of Jonathan's hamon, he chose to stop attacking Jonathan, thanked Jonathan for redeeming his soul, gave Jonathan his sword which helps him in later fights.
