William "Billy" Chapman is the main protagonist of the 1994 Christmas slasher film Silent Night, Deadly Night. He is an extremely scarred toy store employee, whose perception of Christmas was shattered by several tragic events in his childhood, such as his parents' murders, and the horrible abuse he endured by Mother Superior, shaping him into a serial killer.

His Villainous Deeds[]
- When young he punched a man dressed as Santa causing him to get a nose bleed
- Before snapping he tells a young girl if she doesn’t behave he’ll punish her.
- He grabs Andy lifting him in the air then strangles him with Christmas lights (Although Andy most certainly deserved it for treating Billy like crap and trying to force himself in Pamela).
- He kills his crush Pamela by stabbing her in the stomach with a box cutter then slices her gut up all for calling him a crazy bastard (Him killing Pamela was unnecessary as she was one of many people who were kind to him.)
- Kills his boss Iras Sims by driving a hammer claw into his head. (Him killing his Iras Sims was totally ungrateful as he was sorry for what happened to Billy’s parents).
- He kills Mrs. Maria Randall by shooting her in the heart with a bow an arrow.
- He breaks into the house of Cindy and grabs the naked Denise impaling her through the back on deer antlers.
- He then kills Denise boyfriend Tommy by throwing him out a 2nd -floor window killing him on impact.
- He sneaks into the forest and jumps out decapitating Mac causing his head to roll down the hill scaring his friend.
- He sneaks into the bomb shelter basement of St. Mary’s home for orphaned children.
- Murders Officer Jacob Barnes by hitting him in the chest with his axe.
- Attempts to kill Mother Superior.
Why He Doesn’t Stand Out?[]
- While he passed the baseline due to killing a number of people, he fails the heinous standard to his brother Ricky, who managed to rack up a larger kill count than him with lesser resources.
- He is way too tragic to even be considered NPE, due to him when he was a child witnessing a man dressed as Santa Claus shoot his father Jim then attempt to rape his mother Ellen before slitting her throat and trying to bait him out to kill him the killer Santa actions left him and Ricky orphans were he was abused by mother superior when an adult he was bullied by his co-worker Andy.
- He has standards as he killed Mac for bullying up and stealing two boys' sleds.
- He's capable of sparing people:
- He didn’t kill Cindy for being nice and gives her a bloody box cutter as a gift making him honorable.
- He never attempts to kill the other orphans.
- He's also capable of caring about people:
- He loved his family as the deaths of his parents led to him being a serial killer and one of his goals was to reunite with his brother Ricky.
- Unlike Mother Superior who he hates he genuinely has a kind relationship with Sister Margaret who was sympathetic towards him.
- He is extremely remorseful for his actions, with his final moments reassuring the orphan children that they’re safe and that Santa Claus is gone, before dying in Sister Margaret’s arms making his death sympathetic.
