Bazuso is a minor antagonist in the series Berserk. He is one of the earliest named adversaries faced by a young Guts at the beginning of the Golden Age story arc, almost marking his induction into the Band of the Hawk. He is an arrogant general who appears to find thrill in battling and killing whichever opponents he fights, showing himself to not even be above killing teenagers as displayed by his willingness to fight and kill Guts when challenged by him.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He has killed thirty men at once at some point.
- He had killed a bear unarmed, although to be fair, the killing a bear was rather for sports than an actual crime.
- He kills a random soldier by beheading him with his axe during a mercenary raid.
- When Guts challenged him, he accepts the challenge out of amusement and prepares to kill him in spite of him being at the time a fifteen year old boy, showing that Bazuso is not above killing teenagers.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- His crime of mass murder is enough to pass the general baseline, but he massively fails the heinous standard of Berserk due to many characters eclipsing him in both body count and deeds. Even discounting apostle characters like the Snake Baron, who cannibalized numerous women and children and slaughtered a village in a visceral manner, fellow mercenaries Gambino and Donovan eclipse him in heinousness despite all failing the heinous standard themselves. All Bazuso does onscreen is kill a random soldier and try to kill Guts which are all part of his job in the enemy army.
- Bazuso is only ever seen fulfilling his duties as a mercenary, unlike the aforementioned Gambino and Donovan whom are shown committing atrocities unrelated to their job on the battlefield. If the game, Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is to be believed, Bazuso is even rather ordinary and pleasant to his allies.
- We have no details on how Bazuso killed thirty men and it could've been during the heat of battle and in self defense, or even a lie or empty boast made up about Bazuso to make him sound more fearsome.
- Baqzuso's overly brutal death where Guts dislodged his eyeball and killed him even though Bazuso surrendered, makes him a bit of a scapegoat.
