Villainous Benchmark Wiki

Badredd is the secondary antagonist of Loamhedge, the sixteenth book in the Redwall novel series.

He is a runty and dim-witted yet ruthless and megalomaniacal fox who, after having been the butt of his own group's jokes for a while, seized leadership when the other leaders, Burrad and Skrodd, were slain, abused his group, and ventured them on a quest to Redwall Abbey which he would attempt to conquer to no avail, often resulting in humiliating defeats due to him not thinking things through.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • While he was seeking about for firewood, he spots an otter named Bragoon and informs Burrad of this, leading to him preparing to threaten the otter only for him to outwit him with the help of a squirrel named Sarobando and kill him.
  • After taking over as leader when Skrodd and Durgle kill each other under the lie that he killed them both, he proceeds to threaten the gang to try to get them to follow his command and manages to at least frighten Crinktail.
  • Declaring that they'll head to Redwall Abbey in order to get the magic sword there, when Slipback scoffs that he needs it to make himself look bigger, Badredd angrily chops off his tail with his sword before threatening to slay whoever talks to him like that and leading them on to Redwall Abbey with him continuously abusing and mistreating them along the way.
  • Arriving in front of Redwall Abbey, he declared his plans to march straight to the abbey and intimidate the residents into submission by making themselves look more like a gang of killers through waving their weapons and snarling loudly as if they're ready to do murder.
  • He forces Halfchop to go up to the gate to see if he can level with it and after he comes back having gotten his muzzle fractured and his nose wrecked, when he simply replies, "Kachunk" as that's all he can say, Badredd almost attacks him in anger before Flinky calms him down.
  • Demanding the magic sword from the abbey, when the abbot declares that they have none, not believing him Badredd begins threatening him before having the weasel brothers fire two arrows, one that strikes Toran's shoulder as he flung himself upon the abbot.
  • Getting a stone slinged at his footpaw, though Flinky tried to peacefully ask for the sword, Badredd declared a tirade to slay them and take their abbey from them, waging war on them in the process.
  • Breaking into the abbey, once he spots its dibbuns playing in the orchards, he tries to kidnap one of them to hold it hostage only for Junty the hedgehog to come and rescue them.
  • He has the two ferret brothers in his crew fire arrows into Junty's back, killing him in the process and has the crew continue slinging stones to intimidate the residents further.
  • Declaring his plan to recruit more vermin they find to the battle while using the food they have as bribery, Badredd sends Flinky and Crinktail to carry out this task while having the rest of the crew members continue slinging stones at the abbey's windows to strike the beasts inside and began slinging madly himself when they complained that they were too tired.
  • Getting tired of slinging himself and choosing to wander off, when Plumnose and Halfchop wander off with him, Badredd turned on them furiously and ordered them to get back to slinging under the threat of flaying them.
  • Upon trying to negotiate with the abbot to let them have the magic sword and other loots in the abbey for them to leave in peace, when the abbot refused, Badredd had Rogg fire an arrow at him only for it to miss due to the pepper dust in pepper bombs the Redwallers prepared followed by them launching them at them and causing them to spit, sneeze, and rub at their burning eyes, causing them to halt the attack in pain.
  • Though he abandons his goal to conquer Redwall Abbey and escapes with Flinky and the rest of the gang to different lives, it's only because conquering Redwall Abbey has proven too difficult and the humiliation he endured at Raga Bol's hands rather than out of a genuine desire to redeem himself.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • He heavily fails Redwall's huge heinous standard extremely hard due to many characters killing or trying to kill way more in brutal manners with slightly higher, similar, or lower resources like Cluny the Scourge, Swartt Sixclaw, General Ironbeak, Gulo the Savage, Slagar the Cruel, Gabool the Wild, Blodge, Ferahgo the Assassin, Vilu Daskar, Bullflay, and more. Even Raga Bol and Kharanjul outheinous him in his own book despite massively failing themselves as well.
  • He has many moments where he is played for laughs due to his incompetence, frequently making a fool out of himself from his megalomania and foolish decisions.
  • He can be seen as a scapegoat from the amount of slapstick and humiliations he's endured, particularly in the final chapters where he's humiliated by Raga Bol and enslaved by him.
